It is only here you can span time and grasp the past and the present tightly in opposite hands, embracing the aloneness of being the last, while recalling the earliest memories of the assorted personalities, that perceived equality of peers, confidants, co-conspirators and most importantly, friends every one, that shaped the arc of your life.
The lion cubs (above) were raised in that wicker hamper in our bathroom for over 6 weeks, until at last they moved into a larger spare room. My wife mothered these from birth to almost three months of age… an experience as special as it was rare…
